2006: The year that was
Was reading Zeldman’s review of his year and realised I should write mine up before I lose it completely in the haze that is my memory.
- Got engaged to the love of my life and girlfriend of 4 years
- bought our first car, a Toyota Duet
- visited Papua New Guinea on business (also a first)
- started this ill-tended blog
- Celebrated holding down one job for 4 years
- ... and then promptly left for a new one
- went to Microsoft TechEd in Sydney
- reached MCAD
- upgraded to Visual Studio 2005 and MS SQL Server 2005 (Love SQL2K5, think VS 2005 is a bit of a resource hog)
- Survived yet another Fiji coup (It’s actually not over as I write, so perhaps I haven’t survived it yet … but I survived all 3 previous coups, so I have a good track record.)
- chopped off my goatee and replaced it with ye-old-style mutton chops (This is an experiment, the fiancée may yet veto the whole thing.)
I’m sure I’ve forgotten things … I’ll add them as they come to mind.
In the mean time it’s your turn; what was your year like?

I can’t believe you are persisting with the lamb chops! You must be truly dedicated ;-)
Although… the French Fork looks rather interesting. Somewhat diabolical.
